The London Oratory Schola will be going on tour to Rome and Assisi in February 2026. The choir will be singing Masses at St Peter’s, Santissima Trinità dei Pellegrini, the Chiesa Nuova and the Basilica of San Francesco in Assisi. Additionally the Schola will give two concerts, the first at the Basilica of Santa Maria sopra Minerva, and the second at the Basilica of San Francesco. A particular highlight will be singing Mass on Ash Wednesday at the Chiesa Nuova, including the Miserere by Allegri who is buried there. Our concert in Assisi will take place on the eve of the first public veneration of the body of St Francis, which is being exposed publicly for the first time to mark his the 800th anniversary of his death in 1226. The concert will include music written in honour of St Francis by renaissance composers Willaert and Guerrero.
